[Solar Strike]

Great game - not so great aim

The game is fun but the cross hairs are not well claibrated. I have a target right in my scope and I fire away at it and yet it does not get hit. Also if an enemy target it near the top of the sceen I often wind up moving the cursor out of the game and onto the ads or links by accident. Its got everything going for it though, cool art and sounds. I made sure it wasn't me by fully charging my gaming mouse and having at it again so I think you might want to look over what the cause of this is.

Well flash has no ability to control the mouse position so its either restrict you going anywhere near the edges of the screen which would look funny, or just make a big screen :p

Yes the aiming is shit as been mentioned by everyone, but its more the nature of the fake perspective than anything. Its not fps so you aren't looking 'straight down the scope'.
Its set at the same depth the enemies that stop are at so any objects more distance or closer you have to line up for.

Worth fiddling with.

This game is so random. Haha I liked it. I made a dude with a funky soulpatch/sideburn combo and with the leftovers I added a mohawk and some eyebrows. I think this game would be cooler if you could choose the hair color and just draw on the hair instead of click and drag.

Once I make him jump he does not stop jumping. I tried using chrome and IE and the same thing happened. Eather you got a bug, my computer is wacky or the yak had to much coffee.

It has issues

It looks like fun but I have issues with it. The cannon goes from not responding to the arrow keys to all the sudded spinning out of control. Sometimes it will not fire when I press space. If others have these issues it might need a second look. Can't wait to try it when it works properly!

Its cute but not too interesting, I think tradional clothing would make it look better. I also think it would be neat if you added more color and mabey a little back story about what a Matroejska is. Perhaps a small paragraph explaining nesting dolls would help.

Well this is just a prototype, I was keen on getting a non jamming tween into the script.

I'll update it when I've got the time, I'll use your idea of the paragraph and I'm thinking about more colors and even more skins from the start but getting the actionscript right was first priority.

Frustrating.

Sometimes I hit the sucker dead on and it won't hit. I'd like some actual cross hairs, it is very hard to aim and pressing S does nothing, the space bar doesn't work eather. Once you fix this, it might be fun.

you have to upgrade to the scope to be able to switch sights. real guns dont have cross hairs unless you have a scope. you can only reload when your out of ammo. if you were i can look into a bug.

Good art

I liked the art alot, I think that he looked a little like yugioh with the spikey hair though. It needs more fun outfits like mabey goth or punk. Some of the items I could not figure out how to put them on him because it was not apparent what they were. Music got boing after a while but, I think it was pretty good.

Actually it's interesting that you said that because I was about to make a goth outfit for him. But I ended up finishing it prematurely so I never got to.

It was ok.

It was a pretty amusing game, it wansn't really that good but, it could be really fun if it were improved. The beatles cover was no, just no. If you are gonna do the beatles do the REAL THING. I hate copies of good bands and that is what made me click out of this flash.

Good idea, needs work.

I think this was a ver creative idea but, the numbers move too fast, there are too many 0's and 1's and the most frustrating part is the screen is too long, I have to scrol up and down to play which ticks me off.

What is your resolution? The game is 700 pixels tall. Less than 5% of computers use a resolution that small, and those are all old machines. Turn up your resolution.
